This is a pivotal hire designed to spearhead the entire commercial function, taking pressure off the two owners and enabling them to focus on scaling the business to the next level.

The Role
As Commercial Director, you will take full responsibility for the commercial strategy and performance of the business. Your remit includes:
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor and develop the commercial team (QSs, Senior QS, Commercial Manager level)
- Oversee commercial operations across all RC Frame & Groundwork projects
- Support and influence business strategy, margin protection and commercial governance
- Work closely with the owners to streamline commercial processes and support long-term growth
- Ensure robust cost control, forecasting, CVRs and risk management across live projects
- Lead on contractual matters, negotiation, dispute avoidance and final accounts
- Build trusted relationships with clients, supply chain partners and internal stakeholders
- Implement improved systems and commercial reporting as the business scales
Experience Required

Strong, proven track record within an RC Frame subcontractor (minimum requirement)
- Experience operating at senior commercial level – Commercial Manager, Head of Commercial or Commercial Director

Background working within businesses circa £50m turnover and above
- Strong leadership ability with experience managing and developing commercial teams
- Highly competent with NEC/JCT, contractual risk, and high-value packages
- Commercially strategic but also hands-on when required
- Strong communicator who can influence at Board level
Package
There’s no fixed remuneration package at this stage – it will be handled case-by-case based on experience.
