I’m currently partnering with a leading specialist contractor within the building envelope sector who are looking to appoint an experienced Design Manager to oversee and drive their design function. This is an excellent opportunity to join a business with a strong industry reputation and a healthy pipeline of façade and cladding projects.

The Opportunity

My client is seeking a Design Manager with a strong technical background in cladding, façades, or roofing. You’ll be responsible for managing the full design process, ensuring technical compliance, coordinating with project teams, and supporting the successful delivery of each scheme.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the internal and external design teams across multiple projects
• Review drawings, specifications, and tender documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Provide technical guidance on cladding, roofing, and façade systems
• Coordinate design information with clients, architects, consultants, and suppliers
• Oversee design programmes and ensure key milestones are met
• Identify and resolve design risks, clashes, and technical challenges
• Support tendering activities with technical input where required
• Ensure all design deliverables meet regulatory, fire, and quality standards



What My Client Is Looking For

• Strong experience as a Design Manager or Senior Designer within façades, cladding, or roofing
• Excellent understanding of building envelope systems, regulations, and fire compliance
• Confident managing multiple projects and coordinating design stakeholders
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to provide practical technical solutions
• Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams
