Salary: £85,000 + Package


I’m currently working with a leading specialist within the passive fire protection sector who are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee the delivery of fire protection projects across multiple sites. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business that is committed to safety, compliance, and delivering high-quality fire protection solutions.


The Opportunity

As Contracts Manager, you’ll take responsibility for projects from initial tender through to completion, ensuring they are delivered safely, on programme, and in line with strict industry standards. You’ll work closely with technical, commercial, and operational teams to maintain compliance and exceed client expectations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee fire protection contracts from pre-construction through to handover
  • Attend pre- and post-tender meetings with clients and internal teams
  • Prepare, review, and manage all HSEQ documentation (RAMS, Quality Plans, ITPs, check sheets)
  • Ensure fire protection installations meet manufacturer guidance, certification requirements, and industry standards
  • Carry out quality assurance checks and oversee onsite compliance
  • Provide technical briefings, toolbox talks, and training to site teams
  • Manage contract variations, delays, and commercial issues in coordination with QS and commercial managers
  • Build strong client relationships and confidently address technical queries
  • Lead and support contract supervisors, site supervisors, and operatives
  • Oversee workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, and performance management


What My Client Is Looking For

Experience & Knowledge:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in passive fire protection
  • Strong understanding of FIRAS regulations, CDM, Building Regulations, and Approved Document B
  • Knowledge of fire protection products, applications, and industry best practice
  • Experience managing teams in a contracts or project-management capacity


Skills & Qualifications:

  • HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent qualification (NVQ Level 6/7)
  • Full UK driving Licence
  • CSCS card
  • IFE Level 2/3 in Passive Fire Protection (desired or working towards)
  • Excellent organisational, planning, and people-management skills
  • Strong communication and client-facing ability
