Overview
We’re looking for an experienced Passive Fire Protection Estimator to our clients team to support the delivery of high-quality fire safety solutions across commercial, residential, and industrial projects. The ideal candidate has a strong grasp of passive fire protection systems, excellent analytical skills, and confidence working with drawings, specifications, and pricing.
Key Responsibilities
- Review project drawings, specifications, and tender documents to determine fire protection requirements.
- Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for passive fire protection works, including fire stopping, fire doors, fire barriers, structural protection, cavity barriers, and coatings.
- Conduct site visits where required to assess project conditions and gather information for pricing.
- Produce detailed take-offs and bills of quantities.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, manufacturers, and suppliers to clarify project scope and obtain pricing.
- Assess technical feasibility and compliance with relevant standards (e.g., BS, EN, and manufacturer guidelines).
- Prepare tender submissions, cost summaries, and supporting documentation.
- Work closely with project and commercial teams to hand over successful bids and support cost planning.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of materials, systems, and industry developments.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as an estimator within passive fire protection or a closely related sector (e.g., drylining, facades, specialist subcontracting).
- Strong understanding of fire stopping systems, intumescent coatings, compartmentation principles, and relevant regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical documents.
- Proficiency with estimation software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent numeracy, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and confidence liaising with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to manage deadlines and handle multiple tenders simultaneously.
