About the Employer
Our client is a specialist Architectural Metalworks sub-contractor providing high-quality engineering, fabrication, and installation services across commercial, residential, industrial, and public-sector projects. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced and motivated Site Manager to join their expanding team.
Role Overview
The Site Manager will take full responsibility for the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of works on multiple sites. You will manage daily operations, coordinate site teams and subcontractors, enforce health & safety standards, monitor programme milestones, and ensure all work meets required specifications. This role suits a proactive leader who thrives in a fast-paced construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage site activities to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to specification.
- Supervise site operatives, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring high performance.
- Maintain effective communication with project managers, clients, and stakeholders.
- Ensure full compliance with health & safety legislation, RAMS, and company procedures.
- Conduct regular site inspections, quality checks, and progress reporting.
- Manage site logistics, materials, deliveries, and equipment.
- Resolve site-based issues promptly, escalating when required.
- Maintain accurate site records including daily logs, timesheets, and documentation.
- Represent the company professionally at all times.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience as a Site Manager or similar supervisory role within construction or engineering.
- Strong understanding of installation methods, site processes, and project delivery.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Strong working knowledge of health & safety regulations (CSCS, SSSTS/SMSTS desirable).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Proactive problem-solver with strong attention to detail.
- Full UK driving licence (company van provided).
